Formerly the site of two inefficient and dated office buildings, 42 Berners Street in London’s Fitzrovia district is a new-build development which replaces the previous offices with one elegant building. The Portland Stone facade and bronze-framed windows create a refined destination which is a strikingly assured addition to the tree-lined street.
Designed by BuckleyGrayYeoman, the building provides 20,160 sq ft of Grade A specification office space for FORA, the provider of premium co-working and private work spaces. Set on floors 1 to 7, each office space is attractively designed with quality materials and a contemporary colour palette and has its own outside space provided by a balcony or roof terrace. A further 5,005 sq ft of retail space is provided on the ground and lower ground floors.
To aid with the high-end detailing of the building, Shadbolt manufactured and supplied bespoke FSC®certified stain finished crown cut European oak veneered FD30 & FD60 fire performance doors and doorsets. Additional doors and frames featuring a stain and lime finish (to match the architects’ approved pattern) and “Pure White” RAL 9010 factory spray paint lacquered FD30 and FD60 fire performance doors and doorsets were also supplied.
