Royal Holloway, University of London is a public research university located in Egham, Surrey and is ranked 19th (out of 134) in the UK according to The Times/Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020.
In 2014, Royal Holloway embarked on a 20 year Estate Plan, coordinated by Stride Treglown, to develop its historic estate to provide a campus that meets the needs of everyone studying and working at the University.
Following the completion of the Emily Wilding Davison Building and the refurbishment of the Founder’s West Reading Room, it left the old Bedford Library available for other uses. The university set about refurbishing the building to create the new School of Engineering, Physical and Mathematical Sciences.
The repurposed space provides much needed new offices, teaching rooms and space for postgraduate students. In addition, a new undergraduate PC lab has been created in the building, benefitting many of the students and staff.
To assist with the refurbishment of the Bedford Building, Shadbolt duly manufactured and supplied bespoke FSC® certified straight grain American white oak veneered FD30 and FD60 fire resistant glazed doors and doorsets. Furthermore, RAL 7043 “Traffic Grey” factory spray lacquered doors and doorsets were also supplied.
